Shear Strength

Couplings up to DN1500mm are normally capable of withstanding a shear force corresponding to the weight applied by a 10m length of coupled pipe that is full of water, i.e. a length of pipe suspended between two couplings. Rangers are not suitable for this duty and the pipe should be supported to prevent sagging.
